After watching Happy, I was touched by the people in the documentary. I was touched at how much folks in the film valued family, and they took pride in it.
Even if they didn’t have the materialistic things that folks “need” to be happy. They were alright with what they had. They felt as if they had everything because of the love of their family. To them it is normal to feel this way. To me, it's rare. It may be, because of where I’m from. I’m use to folks being focused on “more important things”.
Where I'm from, majority of people's priority is making money. They want to make money to become rich. As if being rich takes care of all of someone problems in the world. Not all feel that way though. There’s a percentage that doesn’t have the desire to be rich. That percentage is happy as long as basic needs are met and family is taken care of. I call these the family type. The family type is just full of love. They really don’t care for the “bigger and better things” in life. They just want to see smiles on loved ones faces. That’s what truly makes them happy.
